Detroit's Fringe Festival:  Saturday April 5, 2008 2pm - 4am April 6, 2008

Established in 2007, The Detroit Fringe Festival was a collaboration of Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts , CPop Gallery , Cranbrook Academy of Art's Artist-in-Residence, Elloiot Earls and Frank Nemecek Filmworks.

This genre-busting , mixed-medium celebration of extreme artistic expression featured D Fuse, Causing A Scene, CPop Gallery, Elloiot Earl's "The Saranay Motel", The Goose Commander, MYO's Garden of Reason from Los Angeles , Plunk from London , Mia Makela-aka "SOLU" from Barcelona and New York's Electric Dinosaurs-Darwin to name only a handful of some of the exciting, adventurous and thought-provoking performers who took part in one of the quirkiest events of the year.

The thirty hour long party included dancing, eye-popping visual art, DJ's, a talk show, Tella Tubby Twister and a "Green Eggs and Ham" breakfast.

Don't miss it!

Beginning April 5th at 2pm The Detroit Fringe Festival presents an astounding array of artists, performers and subcultural experimenters, who for thirty-two straight hours will rattle the cages of convention in music, dance and art as they blur the boundaries of the artistic status quo- all under one roof.

fringe : noun [ frinj ] members of a group or organization who hold views not representative of the group and usually more extreme.

Prepare for an all-out assault on your senses as these avatars of avant garde smash your preconceptions of theatre and art in a dazzling and diverse roster of performers. Brought to you by Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts-for 80 years Detroit's showcase offering a wide range of cultural diversity in the performing arts in downtown Detroit.
