| April 6, 2006 Edition 2 Diva Opening a Huge Success! Well, if you didn't get there, you really missed a great time! A great crowd, some fine music, and fabulous food and drink to boot! What a wonderful response not only from Toledo, but from the whole surrounding area from Detroit, Ann Arbor, Monroe and Grand Rapids, Michigan. The event opening unvailed the most recently produced Jane Petitijean artwork. The new artwork which has not previously been available for purchase before, is now posted at www.janepetitjean.com for sale through Diva. The paintings are very much in Petitjean's style with bright colors, bold line and imaginative composition. The nature of her artwork seems to be reflective of the flambouyant artist herself! An amusing soul to say the least. The show will continue through May 5, 2006, so if you haven't yet visited Diva you still have time! And log onto Jane's website at www.janepetitjean.com for the latest news, info and gallery items in current exhibits in and around the Toledo area! Jane would love to hear from you!!! |

The Leslie Adams Gallery Sells Petitjean Painting in Record Time! The painting was there for little more than a week when an art collector form the east coast contacted the Leslie Adams Gallery. The call came in and the gallery staff went into action relaying jpeg images to the prospective buyer. And in no time the deal was closed! And it is no wonder. The artwork is stunningly colorful. It was the subject of comment and compliment at the Artists' Reception held on March 24, for the Toledo Federation of Art Societies Exhibit in which Ms. Petitjeans work was on display. It was the only painting of the over 40 on exhibit to have sold thus far. "That says something doesn't it?" states Daniel Seger art collector and consultant. And continuing at The Leslie Adams Gallery through April 22nd: The Toledo Federation of Artists Society Exhibit, which has added two more Petitjean works! Shown at right, one features the whimsical protrayal of operetic figures. Another is again, from the charming and beautiful paintings from the Angele Kabwasa book Tales of the Congo. (See the artwork at right) All artwork in the show is available for purchase at www.janepetitjean.com The Leslie Adams Gallery is an amazing gallery space and has been host to many wonderful shows. The gallery is located at One South St. Clair Street, Suite 1A, in Downtown Toledo, OH. Right across the street from the Mud Hens Stadium. And don't forget to stop by Socrates Cafe, 520 Madison Ave. also in the downtown area. A great place!
